Midshipman Hollum is an apprentice leader struggling with his role.

Col. Chamberlain and his men are now positioned at the end of a line of hills called Little Round Top. Their orders were to hold that position to the last man. They absolutely could not give it up. After repelling some earlier Rebel attacks from below, the Union soldiers find themselves out of ammunition and the Rebels about to mount another attack.

Lead: Gettysburg
During the darkest days in American history, the Civil War (1861-1865) was fought between the Northern States (Union) which were free of slavery and the Southern States (Rebels) which had slavery and had separated from the Union. A key battle was fought in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in July 1863. This scene shows Colonel Chamberlain, a Union officer from Maine, dealing with a group of his men who had quit fighting because they had not been paid.

Lead: Gladiator
The Gladiator (DreamWorks, 2000) is the story of General Maximus who refuses to give his loyalty to Commodus, the new Emperor. As a result, Maximus (Russel Crowe) is arrested, escapes but is eventually captured by slave traders. This clips begins with Maximus entering the Roman colosseum as a slave sold to be a gladiator in the re-enactment of the Battle of Zama. He wears a Carthaginian masked helmet, indicating that he is on the losing side of the Battle of Zama and destined for death.

Lead: New Amsterdam - Dr. Max
Max, the new hospital director, has overloaded his staff. Their nearby hospital had to shut down its emergency room, and Max told the emergency crews that his team could handle them all. During this time, Max leaves the hospital to help a homeless woman he saw on the street. Upon his return, he finds the emergency room utterly overwhelmed. The overseer of a chain of hospitals, who is Max’s boss, is there to witness the chaos.
